Microchipping

A Microchip is the most effective form of permanent identification for your pet.

  • A microchip is about the size of a grain of rice.

  • It is implanted  under your pet’s skin between their shoulder blades.

  • Each microchip is embedded with a code unique to your pet.

Lost Pets

In the unfortunate event of your dog becoming lost having them microchipped gives the best chance of them getting back home to you.  When found your pet will be scanned and their unique code will be entered into the database where your details will be available so you can be contacted.

If you find a lost pet you can take them to your local vet clinic to be scanned and organise the owner to be contacted.

Microchips can also be useful if there becomes a dispute over ownership of an animal.

Important: Please make sure your contact details are updated if you move or change your contact number.

Please Note: It is madatory through the dog and cat management board for all dogs and cats to  be microchipped.
