Council Control Orders

Has your council issued your dog with a control order for chasing, harassing or attacking?

Southcoast Animal Hospital provides accredited training courses for the following Control Orders:

  • Nuisance Control Orders

  • Menacing Dog Control Orders
    (minimum of 3 training sessions required)

  • Dangerous Dog Control Orders
    (minimum of 3 training sessions required)

 

Our Team

Training is delivered by our behaviour coach and trainer Jenny, who understand the complexity of canine aggression and anxiety.

Alongside Jenny, Dr Lizzie holds a master’s degree in animal Behaviour and can assist with further diagnosis and treatment of

behavioural disorders when required.

Dr Lizzie and jenny are both accredited and approved trainers by the Dog and Cat Management Board of South Australia. 

They are Fear Free accredited, using evidence-based positive reinforcement methods.

Our Approach

We deliver a unique, tailored training program designed to:

  • Build dog owners’ understanding of canine behaviour and communication, enabling them to manage their dogs effectively

  • Help owners understand and meet their legal obligations

  • Provide practical, real-world management and training strategies

  • Ensure owners develop the skills and knowledge required to safely and effectively manage their dog, reducing the risk of future incidents

 

Consultations

All consultations are held at Southcoast Animal Hospital’s training facilities unless otherwise advised.

Before your appointment, the following is required before your consultation:

  • Completion of an online questionnaire

  • Full payment of the consultation fee

  • A copy of the Control Order and any information relating to the incident that led to the order
